Join us on Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM for conversation, sharing, and even a little cooking as we explore the prayers and meditations that naturally flow when we practice mindfulness in the kitchen.
For those who sign up, I want you to bring a recipe that holds meaning for you. It doesn’t have to be your recipe or even a family recipe. It can be pulled off the internet. The important thing is that it is for a dish that carries a significant emotional connection for you. We will share these together as well as the stories behind them. We might even prepare lunch for one another in the parish hall kitchen!
This Lenten retreat will include guided meditation, active prayer in movement as we cook some together, sharing stories, and quiet spaces for reflection.

Growing in the Wilderness is a 5-part video series from the Diocese of Atlanta that serves as an invitation to keep a Holy Lent and grow in your faith. The pandemic feels like wilderness, but God does amazing things in the wilderness, even when the wilderness stretches on for a while! These are all wilderness stories that remind us of what God can teach there, and that good things come out of wilderness times. Each week on Wednesdays, you can check the link for the weekly video along with a reflection guide.
Our parish-wide focus during Lent is “Wellness and Wholeness.” One of the key elements in this focus includes participation in the sacramental life of the Church. In this light, we want to extend an offer to any who are homebound, for whatever reason, to have Holy Communion brought to you at some point during the five weeks of Lent.
The clergy are assisted in this ministry by a team of trained Eucharistic Visitors. Communion brought to private homes or nursing homes comes from the same consecrated bread and wine that is offered at our in-person worship services on Sunday. Keeping this connection to our in person worship is a wonderful way to nurture healing and a strengthen a sense of wellbeing. If you are interested in receiving communion, please call the parish office 770-536-0126. We will call you and schedule a convenient time.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
