The Children of Grace Preschool, more commonly known as COG, is a program of Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville, Ga., that serves children from ages 6 months to five years. Our academic year typically begins mid August and ends mid May, and the school day runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
To provide a loving, nurturing environment that will enhance each child’s self-esteem, independence and individuality.
Our philosophy at Children of Grace is to provide quality care and education for children 6 months through 5 years of age within a loving environment. The overall belief is to prepare children for each school year by building on previous years. We strive to meet each child’s individual emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual needs. Children of Grace is an outreach ministry to the community providing early childhood education for all children without regard to race, color, religion, sex, handicap, creed or national origin.
Our parents volunteer to serve on various parent committees and assist with the various events and fundraising programs of the school. The parent committees work closely with the director to help ensure the betterment of the program.
As a program of Grace Episcopal Church, COG is governed by the church’s leadership board, the Vestry. The Vestry provides for the physical needs of the preschool and oversees its budget. The Vestry delegates the day-to-day operation to the rector of Grace Church and to the director of COG. The director determines all policies and procedures in consultation with the rector and Vestry.
COG believes deeply that kindness matters! We love sharing with our students how to lead with a servant’s heart through our actions – creating a culture of kindness at school, in our homes, and in the community. In 2022 COG joined more than 17 million students and over 33 thousand schools in over 110 countries in the Great Kindness Challenge. The staff, students, and families worked together to complete as many acts of kindness as we could and are proud to be a “Kindness Certified School!”
