All women of Grace are invited to our monthly women’s book study. We meet in the youth room on the third Thursday of every month, and we would love for you to join us for our next gathering.
This month, we will meet on March 19 at 5:30 PM for a time of fellowship and catching up, with our discussion beginning promptly at 6 PM. We are excited to start a new book: Braving the Truth: Essential Essays for Reckoning with and Reimagining Faith by Rachel Held Evans. Rachel was a beloved voice for those seeking inclusivity and a sanctuary for questioning faith, and her legacy continues through this treasury of her most influential essays.
If possible, please read part one before we meet. You can find the book available for purchase on Amazon.
We look forward to seeing you there and sharing in this discussion together.
Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 AM this Sunday, March 8, when we all “spring forward” by setting our clocks ahead one hour. While most of our phones and computers will update automatically, don’t forget to adjust any manual clocks before heading to bed on Saturday night.
Even though we lose an hour of sleep, this simple shift also gives us brighter evenings and is a reminder that spring is just around the corner!
At our March 8 The Artist’s Way Forum, Diane Rooks and Bruce Leyton will guide us through an inspiring exploration they call “Storytelling: A Survival Guide for Navigating a World That Doesn’t Make Sense.”
A seasoned storyteller and author of Spinning Gold out of Straw: How Stories Heal and Unlocking Your Life’s Wisdom: Stories Are the Keys, Diane brings both wisdom and warmth to the conversation. She believes stories help us make sense of life’s most confusing moments — and that sharing what we’ve learned can invite others into their own healing. Drawing from her lived experience, she will bring each theme to life in a way that is personal, meaningful, and deeply impactful.
Joining her is Bruce Leyton, who has spent years acting, writing poetry, and crafting songs. Though storytelling has not always come naturally to him, he is deeply grateful to the storytellers who helped him open his heart to the voices of the past and discover his own stories along the way.
Together, we’ll reflect on storytelling as one of humanity’s oldest and most powerful tools for making meaning — how it connects us, preserves wisdom, fosters empathy, and builds resilient community. We’ll explore how listening is a gift, vulnerability creates permission, and shared stories become a healing force. In a world that often feels chaotic, storytelling offers a frame for understanding — and a reminder that every life holds wisdom worth hearing.
The Sunday Forum meets in the parish hall on Sundays from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.
The Grace Church nursery, located in the Children of Grace wing, is available to all children age 4 and under on Sunday mornings. The nursery will now be open during the Christian Education hour and the 10:45 AM service worship service – from 9 AM until noon.
Friends of Music is pleased to welcome Will Buthod to Grace Church on Sunday, March 15 at 4 PM.
Will Buthod, pianist, organist, composer, and conductor, has worked in church ministry for the past 27 years. Buthod is known for employing a wide range of styles to fit any given situation, and is in demand in multiple areas, from Gospel to Salsa and Bluegrass. Outside his role as Minister of Music at Holy Trinity, Buthod serves at Candler School of Theology (Emory University), as Director of the gospel choir, Candler Voices of Imani.
His organ recital will be followed by a Choral Evensong for the Feast of Saint Patrick. Sung at the close of day in Cathedrals and churches all over the world, Choral Evensong focuses on the ancient practice of singing evening prayers. The congregation listens, joins in the hymns, and adds their own prayers to those of the choir.
A reception will follow in the parish hall.
The next Outdoor Eucharist will be March 22 at Linwood Nature Preserve. The outdoor service will meet at 8:15 AM, at the same time as the regular Rite I Holy Eucharist in the nave. By holding both services concurrently, we aren’t adding anything extra to the schedule—we’re simply creating more space for imagination, connection, and the movement of the Spirit.
We will gather in the nave on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 PM for meditation, stillness, and healing with Rebecca Turk.
We know that everyone can benefit from a time of reflection and deep meditation, and all are welcome to participate—and bring a friend to share the experience with.
For the most restful experience, bring your yoga mat, a blanket, and any bolster or pillow you prefer and experience the sound bath resting in Savasana. You may also choose to experience it sitting in the pews, and you’re welcome to bring a cushion or pillow to make you more comfortable.
The March 24 sound bath at Grace is free and open to the community. Doors will open at 5:30 PM.
Beautiful flowers and greenery enhance our celebration of The Resurrection at Grace Church, and you can help make that celebration special. Contributions to our Easter flower fund may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Notice of your donation will be included in the worship bulletins for The Great Vigil and Easter Day.
If you would like to make an offering, please submit both the online form and your donation on or before 9 AM on Monday, March 30.
