Grace Church aims to build and sustain a community of connected, joyful, loving and caring Christians through various offerings and activities. Worship, Formation, Outreach, and Community Life are all opportunities to gather and encounter God in one another. Below are some typical offerings, please visit our calendar to see what’s coming up!
We celebrate our annual parish feast day, the Feast of the Holy Cross, on a Sunday in September. There is combined service that day, at 10:00 AM, followed by lunch and fellowship in the parish hall. Parish feast days give a community a focus point in the year to pay closer attention to a key facet and teaching from Jesus’s own life.
We offer the opportunity for folks to walk onto the chancel and view the stone embedded in our altar. The stone, carved in the shape of the cross, is from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, in Jerusalem, a site that for over 1,500 years has been the focus of veneration for Christ’s crucifixion and burial. This relic embedded in our altar helps us have a physical grounding for our prayers. It is a sacramental experience for us to come forward and offer a prayer and remember.
Watch the calendar and the parish newsletter for details.
The women of Grace typically gather annually for a weekend of rejoicing, reflection, and renewal at the Montreat Retreat and Conference Center in North Carolina.
A small group of men gather at 7:00 AM on Monday mornings for coffee and conversation at Panera. Another group gathers for pub theology at Cork It every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. All men are warmly invited to participate.
Foyers is a great way to get to know new faces or get better acquainted with those who have been at Grace a while. Following a sign up period, typically in August and again in January, groups of 6-8 people rotate homes until everyone in the group has a chance to host.
Other activities include Advent wreath making, Christmas Caroling, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, Palm Sunday Cross construction, Easter breakfast and activities, a Thanksgiving Potluck, fellowship nights, receptions, and special outings throughout the year.
