The in-person Centering Prayer group has moved their Friday meetings to Wednesdays beginning June 4!
You are warmly invited to join us for a time of centering prayer, a receptive form of Christian silent prayer, to deepen your relationship with God and experience His presence within. All are welcome.
Mondays at 5 PM on Zoom
Wednesdays at 6 PM in the parlor *
*The group may meet in the conference room on June 4.
We will use real baked bread for Communion during June and July! The bread on June 1 is lovingly made by Carla Kantola.
The wine is a port from Chateau Elan, a favorite of Beth Neidenbach & Jim Bradley.
If you’d like to contribute two bottles of your favorite red wine (Georgia winery preferred), please contact Fr. Stuart!
Each week’s sermon in June and July will focus on the psalm appointed for the day. This will give us a wonderful opportunity to delve more deeply into this rich resource in our practice of faith.
The Caregiver Support Group, sponsored by Alzheimer’s Association Georgia, will meet in the youth room instead of the parlor on Tuesday, June 3.
The group meets at 5:30 PM on the first Tuesday each month to provide a space for those caring for dementia patients to relieve stress, find comfort, and share resources. The group is open to all.
The Women’s Summer Book Study begins this Thursday, June 5! We will gather in room 115 (Youth Room) of The Grace Center at 5:30 PM and get started at 6:00.
In Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People, New York Times best-selling author, the Reverend Nadia Bolz-Weber invites readers into an encounter with what she calls “a religious but not-so-spiritual life.” Accidental Saints demonstrates what happens when ordinary people share bread and wine, struggle with scripture together, and tell each other the truth about their real lives.
Please make plans to attend a special Town Hall Meeting at 9:30 AM on Pentecost Sunday, June 8. We will gather in the parish hall to discuss vital aspects of the parish’s common life.
Dear Friends of Music,
I want to express my deepest gratitude for an unforgettable concert season. Your generous contributions have played a crucial role in making this season a reality. These contributions come in the form of hosting our receptions, promoting our concerts, monetary gifts, and attendance. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to bring musicians of the highest caliber to our community, elevate the arts, and ensure that these performances are accessible to everyone.
During the Grace Choir’s residency in England last summer, I had the privilege of attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the ticket. I learned that the hall wasn’t just a magnificent venue for performances but also a space designed to support both the arts and sciences—and, most remarkably, to make performances accessible to the public, offering many free events for all.
Your support ensures that we continue to foster a similar sense of accessibility here at home, bringing music and cultural experiences to as many people as possible. Thank you for your dedication to the arts and for making these opportunities available to our community.
With sincere appreciation,
Lynn Swanson
Music Director & Organist
As you may know, June 20 is the Summer Solstice, the longest day (or shortest night, depending on which eye you look out of) of the year. To mark this moment, and to have a space for prayer during the summer, Rebecca Turk will return to Grace to offer a Sound Bath.
We will gather in the nave on Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 PM for our time of meditation, stillness, and healing. All are welcome to participate!
For the most restful experience, bring your yoga mat, a blanket, and any bolster or pillow you prefer and experience the sound bath resting in Savasana. You may also choose to experience it sitting in the pews, and you’re welcome to bring a cushion or pillow to make you more comfortable.
Join a group from Grace at Coolray Field on Friday, July 18 to watch the Gwinnett Stripers take on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Game time is 7:05 PM and fireworks will follow.
Tickets are $18 each and must be paid for by Sunday, June 29 to secure your spot. Sign up online!
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
