There is no getting around the death. Later, we are able to say “Oh ‘death’, where is your sting?” But, not now. For now, there is death’s cruel moment, where the tent is torn, the earth quakes, and the stars fall from the sky.
The death of someone you know is never a statistic, but rather the story of someone whose name you will never hear shouted again across a crowded field, or enjoined in a joke, or whispered on a pillow. Grief is its own disease with an uncertain outcome for each of us. What or who have you lost?
Use the chalkboard to name what you’ve lost.
When you’re ready, offer this prayer and move to the next station. map
We adore you, O Christ and we bless you. Because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world. Amen.
