News October 24-30

Sunday Forum: October 24 – November 21

I will offer a special forum beginning this Sunday, October 24, that will focus on the intersection of our practice of faith with our personal and communal lives. This class will connect with the ongoing work of the School for Christian Practice. And, I invite EVERYONE to come: those who are new to the parish and are exploring deepening their practice here, those who have been here a good long while, and those who may have been here and have gotten out of the habit. Come one, come all, as we explore together.

And, here’s your homework: each week, I invite you to bring articles from the news, magazines, research journals, and other sources that have raised questions for you. We really will focus on how our practice of faith intersects with our daily lives, so let’s actually bring examples of daily experience that we can explore together.

Bring your articles, your Book of Common Prayer, a pencil and paper—and a prayerful heart, too. That is always needed.

Stuart+

This special Sunday Forum will meet in the parish hall from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Sundays, October 24 – November 21.

Trunk or Treat & The Varsity

Trunk or Treat returns to Grace on Wednesday, October 27 at 5:30 PM. All are invited to wear costumes, collect candy, and play a game or two. Or just come enjoy dinner and seeing the children in their costumes! The Varsity food truck will be here until 6:30 PM to cater dinner. “What’ll Ya Have?”

Meal reservations should be made no later than noon on Monday, October 25. Dinner is optional. No reservation is necessary to wear your costume and come enjoy the games and candy and fun. All are welcome!

Faith, Hope, and Love: The 2022 Stewardship Campaign

In order for preliminary budget work for 2022 to begin, we ask that everyone return their pledges by Sunday, November 7. Follow up calls will begin on Monday, November 8. Extra pledge cards are available at church, can be printed at home, and your pledge can also be made online. Our goal for the 2022 campaign is $1.1 million and our current pledge total is $421,176. Thank you for your continued support of Grace Church!

Please turn your pledges in this year with an intentionality worthy of our commitment to each other.

Contemplative Photography Workshop November 6

Join us on Saturday, November 6 from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM for Contemplative Photography: Awakening To Life’s Fullness Through Your Lens, led by Katie Archibald-Woodward of Life Illuminated.

Thursday Chair Yoga

Participants in the Thursday Chair Yoga Class would like to continue on after the 6 week initial offering. Anyone who missed our first few classes, please feel free to join us at any time! The class meets on Zoom Thursdays at 10:00 AM. For more info, contact Karen Murphy.

Names for All Saints’ Remembrance

On All Saints’ Day, we pause and remember all the saints who have gone before us, and celebrate our belief in the communion of saints. During services on November 7, we will read the names of all those from Grace who have died since All Saint’s Day last year. If you wish to remember loved ones, email Brenda Morgan and share those names no later than October 30.
