With 53 million adults in the United States being caregivers who face physical, financial, and emotional demands, it is essential that there is support for this largely unrecognized group. On Sunday afternoon, March 27 at 2:00 PM, Community of Hope International (COHI), together with Grace, will host a lecture by Dr. Vanessa Schaeffer in the parish hall. This presentation will describe the caregiver experience, including their challenges and responsibilities, and the critical role of self-care and self-compassion. Join us in person or on Zoom.
Dr. Vanessa Schaeffer is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the mental health care of older adults and caregivers. After 25 years in private practice with individuals of all ages, she developed a specialty in Geropsychology providing both consultation and therapy for older adults and caregivers. Her roles have also included consultation with medical centers and psychiatric hospitals.
Beautiful flowers and greenery enhance our celebration of The Resurrection at Grace Church, and you can help make that celebration special. Contributions to our Easter flower fund may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Notice of your donation will be included in the worship bulletin on Easter Sunday.
If you would like to make an offering, please submit both the online form and your donation on or before Thursday, April 7.
Wednesday evening meals have been cancelled due to staffing issues. If Wednesday meals at Grace Church are important to you and/or you have an interest in investing your time to help with future meals, please let us know.
We are pleased to be partnering with the Hispanic Alliance-GA in supporting those most in need in our Hispanic Community here in Gainesville. Currently there is a need for bar soap and detergent (any kind) for over 100 families. If you are willing to help, you may drop off your items at church anytime before Sunday, April 10 and we will deliver them to the Alliance. Thank you so much.
Look ahead to upcoming opportunities for prayer, worship, and community!
