It is no small thing to stand among your own people and offer prayers on their behalf. There is a special group of folks in the community who are called intercessors, and their gift is to speak out loud and lead the congregation in the prayers of our hearts each week. While we gather these prayers to print them in the bulletin, of course life happens and we often have additions even on Sunday morning as we work to be aware of all the known concerns of the parish. Prayer really is the beating heart of the parish, and I’m thankful for those who are willing to speak the prayers that we all share with one another.
