2023 Weekly News

Date Posted: July 14, 2023

News July 16-22

Office Closed July 17

The parish office will be closed on Monday, July 17 due to tree work being done just outside the Grace Center. Most staff will be working remotely and can be reached by email.

Celebrating the Groundbreaking!

Sunday was a full day and after the 10:45 AM service we took time to break ground for our renovation work. We give thanks for the years of dreaming and planning that our Buildings & Grounds Committee, the Finance Committee, and the staff and vestry have done to bring us to this point.

We will have more information in the coming days and weeks about construction details.

Potluck Lunch to Welcome the Nonnemaker Family!

Don’t forget that our special potluck lunch to welcome the Nonnemaker family is planned for Sunday, August 6, at noon in the Parish Hall. The church will supply chicken, green beans, and mac and cheese. Potluck sides are listed here based on last name, so that we can spread out what everyone brings!

  • A-H: Cold Side
  • I-N: Dessert
  • O-Z: Hot Side

Also, if you could please sign up for the lunch, this will give us a count for tables and chicken. I know everyone looks forward to welcoming the Nonnemaker family as they settle into life at Grace.

Blessings,
Stuart

Day in the Mountains at Vogel

Since 2004 Grace Church has gathered at Vogel State Park in Blairsville for lunch, fellowship, and outdoor fun. Located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest, with an elevation of 2,500 feet, Vogel is a great spot to spend a hot summer day.

This year’s picnic is on the calendar for Saturday, July 29. Visit our website for all the details and please let Jeremy Landers know you plan to attend by Sunday, July 23.

Alice Ann Mundy Shares Her Grace Story

Our next Bicentennial Story has been published! Learn how Alice Ann and Tom Mundy became members of Grace, with the encouragement of Jane Eve Whilheit and thanks to an uplifting homily about love from Rev. Nat Parker.

ALL members of the parish are invited to add their stories to our collection, whether you’ve been here 30 years or 30 days! Email Cynthia to learn more.
