Christian Education Classes Resume Sunday

After a brief holiday break, Christian Education classes will resume this Sunday, January 8, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.

Children meet for Godly Play in room 109 (PreK and kindergarten) and 111 (1st – 3rd grade) of The Grace Center. Whirl, for older elementary age kids (4th & 5th grade) meets in room 126.

Our youth in grades 6-12 will gather in room 115 this Sunday to learn more about youth programs offered by the diocese. Youth from our parish will share their experiences attending weekend retreats, diocesan events, and Camp Mikell.

For adults, we will begin a special three-week forum with the Rev. John Cromartie this Sunday, January 8. John will be here to share a conversation around the rich work of the mystic and civil rights icon Howard Thurman. We will meet in the Parish Hall on January 8, 15, and 22.

The parenting class will continue, as well, in the Conference Room.

Note: The Bible Study class will not meet on January 8, 15 or 22 to allow everyone the chance to hear John Cromartie’s valuable presentation.

Men’s Ministry: Get On Target

Get “On Target “ for 2023 with friends old and new. Sunday, January 22, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Georgia Gun Club indoor shooting range, followed by pizza and conversation. Range cost is $35 per person and includes rental of a pistol if you need one, but you are welcome to bring your own. Sign up online by January 19. Additional advance information with links to a required safety video and liability release will be provided to all registered attendees.

The Sound of the Genuine

On Saturday, February 25 we will gather for a retreat around the theme of The Sound of the Genuine: Becoming More Alive in the Spirit’s Presence. River Guerguerian, a world-renowned percussionist from Asheville, will lead us through a series of guided meditations as we reflect on the power of sound, integrating both themes offered through the reflections of Howard Thurman, mystic, pastor, and civil rights leader as well as poetry and other reflections to highlight the call to listen and discern as a community. We will also welcome other friends from around the area, including: Lerita Coleman Brown, Barbara Brown Taylor, Bobbi Patterson and Rebecca Parker.

Midweek Worship Services

If you need a mid-week time of prayer and reflection, please join us for Compline at 8:00 PM on Zoom every Tuesday and/or Eucharist at noon in the chapel on Wednesdays. The Zoom link for Compline can be found on the Grace@Home page of this website. All are welcome!
