Grace Church is an Episcopal congregation of some one thousand
souls in Gainesville, Georgia. Located 45 miles northeast of
Atlanta, we are a church centered on worship and
fellowship,
education and service. Centered on these things, we work, pray
and give to fulfill our mission of restoring all people to unity
with God and each other in Christ.
Founded in
1828, Grace Church has been the Episcopal presence in our
community for over 175 years. We have endured many difficulties
and enjoyed many successes in our long and rich history.
Regardless of the circumstances, however, the gospel has been
preached, the sacraments celebrated and the faith taught. These
things have sustained us through good times and bad.
From small and
humble beginnings, we have grown into a large and vibrant
church. Cherishing our past, we are nurturing our present and
building our future. We are excited about both who we are and
who we are to become. The promise of Grace continues to develop
and grow.
We invite all
people to be a part of our church family. Learn more about us
through this website and by visiting with us on Sundays and at
other times. Grace Church welcomes you! Grace Church welcomes
all!
Our Mission
The mission of the church
is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in
Christ. Grace Church pursues this mission by accepting and
welcoming all people as the children of God as we pray and
worship, provide education and care for our parish family and
reach out into the community in which we live. As a community of
faith we remain open to the ongoing revelation of God in our
time.
