The Visual Arts Committee of the Liturgy & Creative Expression cluster is excited to announce the details of the 2020 Grace Member Art Show. This tradition is the way we at Grace share and celebrate the artist within each of us. Pieces submitted to the show may include paintings, mixed media, photography, fabric and 3D art such as ceramics, glass, metal, sculpture, woodwork and more.
The show will be open on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings from March 23 – April 30. The art may also be available to view during parish office hours (Monday – Thursday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) but we suggest calling 770-536-0126 prior to stopping by. It’s 2020 and we LOOK forward to a great show!
Grace members who would like to submit pieces should see additional details below and submit the registration form on or before March 6.
Grace members who would like to submit pieces to the 2020 Art Show should fill out and submit the form below on or before Friday, March 6.
Pieces submitted to this show will be paintings, mixed media, photography, fabric and 3D art to include ceramics, glass, metal, sculpture and woodwork. In order that we may accommodate as many pieces as possible, a maximum size limit of 35”x52” is requested. Please also be aware that all paintings, mixed media, and photography must be submitted with proper picture hanging wire attached. Any fabric pieces should include a sleeve with a sturdy dowel and 3D art should include any “special” display stand or case the piece requires.
This show is not a juried event and artistic pieces will be accepted in the order that registrations are received. The total number of entries in the show is limited; based on size of proposed art pieces and depending upon display space available. Grace reserves the right to reject any art that may be deemed offensive or any piece we are not able to safely hang and/or effectively display.
The registration form to participate in the show can be found below and the deadline to register is March 6. Once we have collected all entries, we will communicate additional details including drop-off dates. You may request to submit a second piece, however, acceptance will depend on space available after all first requests are fulfilled. We would like to accommodate as many of our creative Grace member artists as possible.
For this show, craft retail will not be included in the event. Any inquiries for purchase of an art piece will be between you as the artist, and the prospective buyer.
Remember Grace member artists, “Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor/artist. It’s a gift to the world and every being in it. Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you’ve got”. (Steven Pressfield, The War of Art).
