Parish Life at Grace Church seeks to build and sustain a community of connected, joyful, loving and caring Christians through various offerings and activities.
Parishioners gather together every Wednesday night during the academic year to enjoy food and fellowship. Special classes and conversations are occasionally offered following dinner and committees and ministry groups are also encouraged to schedule meetings and conversations at that time
The Parish Picnic is an annual celebration typically held every May to celebrate spring and the end of another academic year of ministry and mission by our church. Join a few hundred of your best friends to Eat, Pray & Play!
Grace adults gather monthly to watch and discuss movies addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share, and the popcorn is always plentiful. Informal discussion before and after the movie often adds to both the enjoyment and understanding of the films viewed. Movie Night is a great opportunity to be with a congenial gathering of Grace folks and friends. Movie Night happens in the Youth Room of The Grace Center at 7:00 p.m., typically (but not always!) on the 2nd Friday each month. All are invited!
Twice a year, all Grace Church members are invited to participate in a Foyer Group. Foyer Groups consist of six to eight adults who meet in one another’s homes for a meal and fellowship over the course of approximately six months. The groups gather at the convenience of the members, with the first meeting being held at the home of the group’s captain. A sign-up period is held after which the names of those interested are assigned to groups. Not only is participation in Foyers fun, but it also facilitates deeper relationships among Grace Church members. If you are interested in joining, watch the newsletter for information about how to sign up for the next round of foyers.
The acronym SAGES represents any and all Grace Seniors (60 to forever) who are looking to be socially active in the company of other Grace seniors, creating a community to include luncheons at the church, occasional outings, educational programs of interest and whatever else we want to do. Please watch the bulletin board at the information station, or sign up for the SAGES email list, to learn about offerings for SAGES at Grace Church! Join us!
The Grace Church Hike Group is a sub-group of Parish Life and provides an opportunity for the enjoyment of numerous outdoor events and activities. While our primary activity is hiking, we offer several events each year that do not require any hiking and are suitable for those who can’t take part in our regular hikes. The mission of the Hike Group is to appreciate, value, and respect the relationship of our outdoors with our faith for a positive impact in our lives.
A small group of men gather at 7:00 AM on Monday mornings for coffee and conversation. The group meets at Panera. All men are warmly invited to participate.
Other activities include Advent wreath making, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, Mardi Gras celebrations, Palm Sunday Cross construction, receptions, and special outings throughout the year.
