Parish Life

Realizing that fellowship and fun can be had while God's work is being done, the Parish Life Committee organizes many activities to bring parishioners together on special occasions, celebrations, and for regularly scheduled activities.

Friday Dinners

The Parish Life Committee invites you to join a group from Grace Church to eat dinner together on the third Fridays of the month. Restaurant locations vary based on style, menus, pricing and convenience for a wide variety of appetites. Watch for the current month’s schedule on the Parish Life bulletin board, and in the newsletter.

Annual Parish Picnic

Parishioners gather together after worship one Sunday in May after church for food, fellowship, games and other fun activities.

Fall Kick-Off

We kick-off the fall semester of Christian Education every year with a parish rally.

Movie Night

Grace adults gather on the second Friday each month at 7:00 PM in the Youth Room to watch and discuss movies old and new addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share. Informal discussion before and after the movie adds to both the enjoyment and understanding of the films viewed. Do you have a favorite movie that you would like to watch and discuss with others? Contact the Adult Formation Committee to get it on the Movie Night schedule.

Hike Group

The Grace Church Hike Group is a sub-group of Parish Life and provides an opportunity for parishioners to share fellowship while enjoying the outdoors. The hikes are not about speed and are open to all levels of hikers. In addition to our regular monthly day hikes we offer several events each year that do not require any hiking and are suitable for those who can’t take part in our regular hikes.

Monday Morning Men's Group

A small group of men gather early on Monday mornings for coffee and conversation. The group is meeting at Inman Perk on the Gainesville Square and they gather at 7:00 AM. All men are warmly invited to participate.

Foyers

Foyers is a collection of small groups of adults who get together in one another’s homes for dinner. The philosophy of “Foyers” is that we do not really know each other until we have broken bread together. In becoming a part of Foyers, we make new acquaintances and know our present ones better. Names are randomly drawn and put into small groups of 6-8 people. We encourage newcomers to sign up! Each member of a group hosts the other members for dinner is his/her own home. Foyers are a great opportunity for fellowship.

Additional Opportunities

Other activities include Advent wreath making, Epiphany pageants, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, Mardi Gras celebrations, Palm Sunday Cross construction, receptions, and special outings throughout the year.
