Outreach

The Outreach Committee is a group of hard working and committed parishioners who take their duties very seriously and realize that they are entrusted with the responsibility of using outreach funds wisely. The Committee commits funds to agencies and programs at the beginning of the year and also funds agencies, programs or individuals on an emergency basis throughout the year. Grace Church parishioners are active in giving time and talent to many community organizations and the church facilities are available to many worthy community activities.

Community Food Pantry

Grace Church has been serving the Community Food Pantry for 34 years, making this the longest running outreach program of our church. Rotating with other churches, Grace serves by providing volunteers to staff the pantry and by collecting food to stock the shelves just prior to our assigned dates. Volunteers typically work in pairs three days a year on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM.

Good News at Noon

Volunteers from Grace Church have been responsible for the noon meal at Good News at Noon mission every Tuesday for over 20 years. Please contact the parish office if you are interested in joining this ministry.

Carpenter's Kids

The Carpenter’s Kids Program of the Diocese of Central Tanganyika (DCT) in Tanzania, Africa ensures that orphaned and other disadvantaged children in the diocese receive their primary school education through a parish to parish link. In 2009, Grace Church’s Outreach Committee committed to sponsor at least 60 children a year for 4 years in the village and parish of Chifutuka. That number was increased to 70 for the 2010-11 school year. The cost per child per school year is $80 and this provides all that is needed to attend school: a uniform, a pair of shoes, school supplies and breakfast each day. Grace was the first Diocese of Atlanta parish to participate in the program beginning in 2009, joining some 80 parishes in the Diocese of New York where the program originated in 2006.
