"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Grace Church is a series of ministries or programs where laypeople in the parish assist the clergy in reaching out to support, and express our care and concern to those members who are unable to participate with their presence. Our stated mission is “to provide care and support for all parishioners and especially those in need." The ministries are:

Lay Eucharistic Visitors This ministry, fairly new to Grace and growing, consists of teams of licensed L.E.V.s who administer Holy Communion to those unable to come to the church and thereby provide them the opportunity to share in our corporate worship.

Tape Ministry Sunday morning services are taped and CDs are delivered to parishioners who are unable to attend church.

Funeral Reception Committee This group assists in setting up and carrying out funeral receptions in the parish hall.

Hospital and Nursing Home Visitation Committee Parishioners visit those who are in the hospital or nursing homes to give comfort and remembrance.

Meals Committee Parishioners work in teams to provide fresh meals for church members just home from the hospital

Other ministries When needs are known, members of the pastoral care group will read to the visually impaired, provide transportation, and assist with grocery shopping, minor yard maintenance, and house preparation at a time of family death. An extended meals committee delivers fresh or frozen meals in cases where longer support is needed.

The Pastoral Care Committee All of the above functions are managed by the pastoral care committee (formerly known as pastoral Partners) which meets from time to time after church for lunch, training and fellowship. A call to the church office is all that is needed to set things in motion to provide any of these ministries.

The goal of
Pastoral Care...

is to provide care and support for one another among parishioners.
