| Realizing that fellowship and fun can be had while God's work is being done, the Parish Life Committee organizes many activities to bring parishioners together on special occasions, celebrations, and regularly scheduled activities.
Great Wednesdays At Grace
Fellowship is the primary purpose of Great Wednesdays, more commonly known as GWAG. Parishioners gather for dinner and conversation at
5:30 PM and opportunities for learning and informational meetings are presented at
6:30. Click
here for the current menu and program schedule.
Parish Life Activities and Quarterly Trips
The Parish Life Committee has worked hard to provide a variety of trips and activities throughout the fall season. Quarterly trips are usually overnight trips that require advance sign-up. Be sure to watch the parish life bulletin board and The Evangelist for more information about Parish Life events.
First and Third Friday Dinners The Parish Life Committee invites you to join a group from Grace Church to eat dinner together on the first and third Fridays of the month, just meet in front of The Grace Center at
6:00 PM and we'll travel together. Restaurant locations will vary based on style, menus, pricing and convenience for a wide variety of appetites. Watch for the current month’s schedule on the Parish Life bulletin board, and in the newsletter.
Movie Nights
The Adult Education Committee is committed to continuing this enjoyable occasional offering. The Youth Room provides a comfortable setting for watching and discussing movies of note, and the microwave in the Grace Center Kitchenette produces a good bag of popcorn! Watch the church newsletter for dates.
Foyers
is a collection of small groups of adults who get together in one another’s homes for dinner. The philosophy of “Foyers” is that we do not really know each
other until we have broken bread together. In becoming a part of Foyers, we make new acquaintances and know our present ones better. Names are randomly drawn and put into small groups of 6-8 people. We encourage newcomers to sign up! Each member of a group hosts the other members for dinner is his/her own home. The dinners are
supposed to be very simple and served simply, so the emphasis is on conversation rather than on the host’s wealth, possessions or culinary ability. Foyers are a great opportunity for fellowship.
Annual Parish Picnic
Parishioners gather together one Sunday after church for food, fellowship, games and other fun activities.
Fall Kick-Off
Grace Church kicks-off the fall semester of Christian Education every year with
parish rally, continental breakfast and a subs and sundaes
lunch.
Monday Morning Men’s Group
A small group of men gather early on Monday mornings for coffee and conversation. The group is meeting at
Home Sweet Georgia on the Gainesville Square and they gather at 7:00 AM. All men are warmly invited to participate.
Other activities include Advent wreath making, Epiphany pageants, Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers, Mardi Gras celebrations, Palm Sunday Cross construction, receptions, and special outings throughout the year. |
