Communication - Newsletter & Email List

What is the newsletter schedule?
Grace Church publishes a weekly newsletter called The Evangelist. In order to save paper and keep costs down, you can choose to receive your copy of the newsletter in your mailbox or your email inbox! The Evangelist has a Sunday issue date. The paper hardcopies are typically mailed on Wednesdays or Thursdays and the email copies are sent on Friday mornings.

How do I get the newsletter by email?
If you want to receive The Evangelist by email, first click here to join our email list if you haven't done so already! Then, to opt out of receiving a paper hard copy in your mailbox, email your name and mailing address to the Communications Coordinator and indicate that you'd like to be taken off the list to receive a hard copy. It may take a week or two for your address to be removed from the list. Please note that this will only remove your name from the list to receive The Evangelist. You will continue to receive other correspondence from Grace Church by regular mail.

How do I get the newsletter by regular mail?
If you want to continue to receive The Evangelist by regular mail, you don't have to do anything unless you wish to discontinue receiving it by email. To opt out of receiving the newsletter by email, click the "Update Profile/Email Address" link at the bottom of any email from Grace Church and follow instructions to update your profile. Once you have accessed your profile, uncheck the box next to "Parish Newsletter - The Evangelist" to discontinue receiving the email newsletter. Please leave the box next to "Parish Wide News and Events" checked to continue to receive other important email correspondence from Grace Church.

How do I submit information for publication in the newsletter?
Submit information for the newsletter by contacting the Communications Coordinator by phone (770-536-0126) or by email. The deadline for each issue is the Thursday 10 days before the issue date. For example, if you wish to put an article in the Sunday, April 19 issue you must submit it by Thursday, April 9.

The parish office has my email address, so why am I not receiving the newsletter by email?
The email list is self-subscribe and completely separate from our regular parish database. The parish office will not add addresses to the email list. This ensures that we only send mass emails to people who wish to receive them. If you have never received an email from Grace Church, you may not be on our list. Click here to join

If I choose to receive the newsletter by email, will I still get the monthly calendar and the birthday/ anniversary list?
Yes, you will! Links to the monthly calendar and the birthday/anniversary list are emailed with the first newsletter every month.

How do I sign up to be on the email list?
Click here to join our email list. During the sign up process you will be asked to select the areas of interest for which you would like to receive emails from Grace Church.

  • Select Parish Wide News and Events if you would like to receive emails about special events or worship services, death/funeral announcements, or weather related cancellations. Grace Church highly encourages every member of the parish to sign up to receive Parish Wide emails.
  • Select Parish Newsletter - The Evangelist if you would like to receive Grace Church's newsletter, The Evangelist, by email.
  • Select Parish Life Trips and Activities if you would like to receive emails about activities and trips planned by the Parish Life Committee.
  • Select Festival of the Arts if you would like to receive emails about Grace Church's biennial arts festival.
  • Select Music Events if you are not a member of Grace Church but are interested in receiving notification of special music events open to the community. (This information is also sent to members of the "Parish Wide News & Events" list.)

After selecting your areas of interest, please be sure to provide your name, zip code, (see our privacy policy here) preferred email format and click the "save profile changes" button to complete your registration.

How do I change my email address?
Open any Grace Church email and click the link that says "Update Profile/Email Address" at the bottom. You should then receive an email with a link to your registration page, where you will be able to edit your email address and areas of interest. If you no longer have access to your old emails, use the link on our website to sign up again with your new email address.

How do I take my name off the email list?
Click the button that says "SafeUnsubscribe" at the bottom of any email you have received from Grace Church. This will open a page where you can remove your email address from specific interest lists or opt-out of receiving all future communications. Once your opt-out choices have been made, you are automatically removed from the chosen lists.

If you unsubscribe to all of the mailing lists, you will be added to the 'Do Not Mail' list and Grace Church will no longer be able to send you emails through the list. Please note however, that unsubscribing from the email list will not prevent the parish office from being able to email you individually should the need arise, provided we also have your email address in our regular parish database. The information we have on file in the parish database is completely separate from the email list.
