The dove is a symbol of innocence and of the Holy Spirit. It is taken from the story of Jesus' baptism, where the Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove. 6 (Matthew 3:16)

Kathy Gosselin honors her family--husband, Bill Galardi, and her children, Ken and Alice Fockele, who were so patient while she worked on the kneeler. Alice E. Fockele stitched a few of the stitches.  Kathy also expresses gratitude to Becky Whitmire, her friend, who took up the slack when it became apparent that Kathy could not finish in time.  “And this after Becky finished her entire kneeler herself.”

Daphne David thought of her mother quite a bit while stitching.  “She was an incredible seamstress and I couldn't help but feel she would be proud that I was participating in the "church's" work. It was tender to think, too, that the kneelers would be a legacy.........lasting much longer than the fingers hurting from wool and needles.” She expressed thanks to Murray and the MANY warm fires he provided me while working. “And I have to thank Mary Jardine who took me on a long weekend trip to the beach during which I never got out of a night gown but rather sat on the couch stitching morning to night with her feeding me and urging me on. I've always liked diamonds but NEVER enjoyed counting the ones I have more than counting the diamonds completed in the boxing band.”

Jane Hemmer dedicates her stitching in honor of her husband, John Lee Hemmer, whose patience and enthusiasm in sharing with her all the hours she held a needle made this project joyful.
