The Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) has been used in several different poses. Here, it stands holding a banner, and represents the risen Christ who triumphs over death. 2 John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus Christ to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29)
Bonnie Smith dedicates her stitching in memory of her dad, James Wylie Wells., and in honor of her daughter, Leslie Carol Smith and mother, Elnora Wells.
Reba Page’s thoughts while stitching her boxing bands: “I truly enjoyed stitching on the kneeler for the church. While stitching I would think back to all the memories I have of Grace Church. While I was in college at Brenau I started attending Grace Church and loved it so much I wanted to get married here instead of back home. All three of my children and husband, Randy have been baptized at Grace, each in a different location - one in the chapel, two in the Parish Hall, while the new church was being built and one in the new sanctuary. I also thought of all the occasions to come where we will enjoy the new kneelers in the church. I thought of Carolyn acolyting, Elizabeth singing in the choir and Michael who one day I hope will acolyte also. I also thought of my daughters possibly marrying in Grace. I also found that when I was stitching I could relax and take my mind off my troubles. It was also nice because my daughters offered to help me and it gave me the opportunity to teach them how to needlepoint. We could sit and visit while we stitched. I feel very blessed to be part of something so beautiful and wonderful for our church. Thanks for including me in this special project.” |
