How to...

How to Join the Episcopal Church:

There are two main requirements for becoming a full adult member of the Episcopal Church.

The first requirement is Baptism. If you are baptized in another Episcopal Church or in another denomination, the Episcopal Church recognizes your baptism to be a valid and joyous event of entry into the life of the Church and the Body of Christ. If you are not Baptized, this is a necessary step in becoming a member of our church family.

The Episcopal Church also requires all baptized Christians to make a public affirmation of their faith signifying adult commitment to the responsibilities of Baptism. Public affirmation includes presenting one's self before a bishop for Confirmation or Reception. If you are a baptized and confirmed Episcopalian transferring from another Episcopal church then this is not required.

For more details please contact the church office.

Sacramental & Pastoral How To's:

Arrange a Baptism Contact one of the clergy for the schedule of baptisms and to arrange for baptismal instruction.

Arrange a Wedding The first step in planning a wedding is to contact the Rector, by phone or email in order to discuss time and dates. When the date is determined our Parish Administrator, will provide a copy of our comprehensive wedding packet, which includes guidelines and fees. One of the clergy will schedule a series of premarital counseling sessions to be held with the couple prior to the wedding.

Be Visited in the Hospital Please call the Parish Secretary when you or a member of your family is hospitalized for any reason. The clergy want to be of assistance and need to know when someone is ill. As part of their pastoral care, they will be happy to bring communion to anyone who, by reason of illness or other circumstances, is unable to come to the church.

Arrange Counseling Simply contact a member of the clergy to arrange a meeting. When appropriate, the clergy will also be glad to share information with you regarding other counselors and pastoral resources in the community and will make referrals.

Arrange a Funeral Notify one of the clergy at home or at the church office as soon as a death occurs. The clergy will meet with you to assist with funeral arrangements and provide counsel and support.
