Advent began on Sunday, November 30, 2008.
With hopeful expectation, let us prepare joyfully for Christ's
return and His reign!
Advent Lessons and Carols
A service of Advent Lessons and Carols will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 7. This beautiful service
is meant not to celebrate Christmas, but to help us prepare for
it. Parishioners read stories from the Old and New Testaments
that foretell the coming of Christ and we sing and listen to
hymns and anthems that tell the story of the heavenly light
shining in the darkness of our world. A nursery will be
available for children ages 4 and under. We hope that you will mark
your calendars and make plans to attend.
Grace Church makes a special effort to invite the community to
this service. If you are not a member of Grace, please know you
are warmly invited to attend. If you are a member, please pick
up some postcards on the information table and use them to
invite your friends and neighbors to attend Advent Lessons &
Carols with you.
Candlelight Café The GWAG
programs during Advent (December 3, 10 & 17) will
encourage reflection, conversation, and fellowship as we prepare
for the Christmas holidays. After our meal, we'll take time to linger over
special desserts and coffees, while enjoying a light and
entertaining program.

A Visit from St.
Nicholas Come enjoy the annual visit of St. Nicholas
to Grace Church on Sunday, December 7. He will visit the
children's Christian Education classes and participate in the
procession during the 10:45 AM service. And he always brings
small sweet treats for children of ALL ages!
Morning Prayer
The office of Morning Prayer will be offered for the
season of Advent. The service will be held in the Conference
Room of the Grace Center beginning at 8:30 AM every morning,
Monday through Friday. This offering begins on Monday, December
1 and continues until Tuesday, December 23.
Laying on of Hands and Prayer for
Healing will be offered at the 10:45 AM service every
Sunday during Advent. If you have concerns of any sort that you
wish to be lifted up in a sharing, loving fellowship, simply
stop by one of the teams in the side aisles on your way back to
your seat from taking Communion. You may ask for a healing
prayer for yourself or for someone else.
